Hilarious Surfers have reporter in Stitches | TODAY Show Australia
Surfer Daniel Caban, 20, had been paddling about 50 metres out at Swansea Heads, south of Newcastle in New South Wales, when a 3.5 metre long great white shark burst out of the water.. Photographer Nathan McLaren, 33, captured the once-in-a-lifetime experience on camera.
Friends raced into the water to warn Daniel and others about the beast, which they believe could have been secretly feeding in the area for more than an hour while surfers rode waves above it.
'I was just out on the beach taking a picture of a couple of the local guys out surfing and just had the perfect coincidence of capturing the lovely photo,' Nathan, a photographer and electrician, said.

'When Daniel saw the photo his jaw pretty much hit the ground. He had been in the water for about an hour and I'd say that shark was feeding around there the whole time.
'It goes to show the shark wasn't out there to kill him, but it was definitely feeding out there.
'The way the bay operates you have a wave that comes in from the right and the left and it pushes a lot of water out through the middle, you get a huge rip which pushes out all the food I suppose.
He said: “If you see a snake when you’re camping you’re still going to go camping if you enjoy it ... I highly believe it’s their domain out there. Obviously what’s happened in Western Australia is a tragedy but I don’t believe culling is the answer.
“I think we have the technology to keep them away if you are worried about it.”
A heroic surfer who revealed he was single in a viral interview on the Today Show in 2013 returned to the show this morning alongside his wife. Angus McNicol from Byron Bay appeared on the breakfast show eight years ago after he and his friend Nick Chalmers bravely jumped into dangerous surf at Kirra to rescue a French couple who were caught in the wash near rocks. The pair's interview went viral as Today Show host Karl Stefanovic burst into hysterical laughter at long-haired Angus's revelation that it felt 'really good' to rescue the female half of the couple. Stefanovic later described McNicol as a 'woolly mammoth'. The interview ended with confirmation that McNicol was single and looking for a partner, with Stefanovic inviting female viewers to contact the show if they wanted to be put in touch with the single life saver.
This morning he reappeared on the show alongside his wife, Brooke McNicol Boyschau, who revealed she first spotted McNichol before she'd seen the famous rescue interview. 'I actually hadn't seen the segment prior to first witnessing Angus in his natural habitat,' she said. 'The first time I saw Angus was on the beach, he'd sort of emerged from the water [and] I thought, righto, calm down, who is this?' Brooke revealed she had a drink with McNichol before a friend made her watch the viral segment featuring his brave feat and then urged her to track down the hairy hero, who she described as 'Aquaman'.

McNichol charmed the nation when he described the moment he rescued the female French backpacker eight years ago. 'I calmed her down and I asked her what her name was and she asked me what my name was,' he said. 'But then she said I was her angel, so I was pretty happy.' 'You don't get called "angel" every day.' Stefanovic then made it something of a mission to find Angus a partner, later inviting him back on the show to detail what he was looking for in a wife.

9 Minutes of Mind Blowing Moments Caught on Camera!
Harding made a name for herself in the competitive skating world during the mid to late 1980s and in 1991 she reached the peak of her career. Harding became the first woman to ever complete a triple axel in competition; she stunned judges and earned the first 6.0 mark given to a female skater for technical merit. She won the 1991 U.S. National Figure Skating Championships and placed second in that year’s World Championships. Despite this success, she was never able to land the triple axel in competition and as a result, her career began to decline.

In competitive sports some have considered cheating and a few have attempted to cheat to succeed..Harding remained in the spotlight as she was often compared to fellow American figure skater, Nancy Kerrigan. The two young women had a competitive rivalry on the ice, and the media created and fuelled another dimension to this rivalry. Nancy Kerrigan was often referred to as the “princess” of figure skating due to her poised and polished demeanor. Harding on the other hand, was a little rough around the edges, often criticized by judges for costumes she had made herself. Harding was athletic, but she did not project the sophisticated, clean-cut image that the figure skating world upheld. Kerrigan did, and as a result she received numerous endorsement deals leading up to the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway.
Ice Skater Nancy Kerrigan
During the 1994 U.S. National Figure Skating Championships, the Kerrigan- Harding rivalry was amplified as both women were set to compete for their spots on the Olympic team; however, Nancy Kerrigan would never make it to the competition. After a practice session, Nancy Kerrigan was whacked on the knee with a metal baton by a mysterious man, injuring her so bad that she was unable to compete. Tonya Harding went on to win the competition, solidifying her spot on the Olympic team. Even though Kerrigan was unable to compete at the National Championships, it was later decided that if her knee healed, she would be given a spot on the team, as well.
Harding’s win was quickly overshadowed by accusations that she was linked to the conspiracy against Kerrigan. Both Kerrigan and Harding went on to compete at the 1994 Winter Olympics, but they were surrounded by media frenzy over the attack on Kerrigan. Harding’s ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly, along with three other men, was accused and found guilty of plotting and carrying out the attack on Kerrigan. He believed that if Kerrigan was out of the competition, money and endorsement deals would be in Harding’s future.

Nancy Kerrigan says she never got a direct apology from Tonya Harding
Throughout the Olympics, the media surrounded Harding, asking her if she knew about or was involved in the attack. Harding continued to deny any knowledge of or any involvement in the attack on Kerrigan. Nancy Kerrigan ended up winning the silver medal, losing the gold to Ukrainian Oksana Baiul; Tonya Harding placed a distant 8th.
Harding never admitted that she was involved in the plot; however, she did plead guilty to hindering prosecution because she learned of the plot after the attack. Harding received three years probation, paid $160,000 in fines, and completed 500 community service hours. The U.S. Figure Skating Association stripped her of her 1994 National Figure Skating Championship title, and forever banned her from U.S. figure skating. The USFSA believed that Harding knew about the attack before it happened and showed “a clear disregard for fairness, good sportsmanship and ethical behavior.”
