Mad Max 2 (released as The Road Warrior in the United States) is a 1981 Australian post-apocalyptic dystopian action film directed by George Miller. It is the second installment in the Mad Max franchise, with Mel Gibson reprising his role as "Mad" Max Rockatansky. The film's tale of a community of settlers moved to defend themselves against a roving band of marauders follows an archetypical "Western" frontier movie motif, as does Max's role as a hardened man whose decision to assist the settlers helps him rediscover his humanity. Filming took place in locations around Broken Hill, in the Outback of New South Wales.
The film was released on 24 December 1981 to widespread critical acclaim, with particular praise given to Gibson's performance, the musical score, cinematography, action sequences, costume design and sparing use of dialogue. It was also a box office success, and the film's post-apocalyptic and punk aesthetics helped popularise the genre in film and fiction writing. At the 10th Saturn Awards, the film won Best International Film and was nominated for five more awards: Best Director, Best Actor for Gibson, Best Supporting Actor for Bruce Spence, Best Writing, and Best Costumes for Norma Moriceau. Mad Max 2 is widely hailed as both one of the greatest action movies of all time and one of the greatest sequels ever made,[6] and fan clubs for the film and "road warrior"-themed activities continue into the 21st century.
Preceded by Mad Max in 1979, the film was followed by Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome in 1985 and Mad Max: Fury Road in 2015.
Mel Gibson plays the iconic role of Max Rockatansky in the movie.
Gibson’s intense performance as the lone drifter in a dystopian wasteland catapulted him to international fame.
The Road Warrior takes place in a desolate future where society has collapsed.
Survivors in this harsh world fight for resources, and gasoline has become one of the most valuable commodities.
The Road Warrior was shot on a relatively modest budget.
Despite the limited resources, the filmmakers managed to create a visually stunning and immersive post-apocalyptic world.
The iconic vehicle in the movie, Max’s Interceptor, is a modified Ford XB Falcon Coupe.
Its distinctive look and powerful performance have made it an enduring symbol of the Mad Max franchise.
The Pursuit Special, also referred to as the Last of the V8 Interceptors, is the iconic black GT Falcon muscle car featuring a distinctive supercharger driven by the title character Mad Max during much of the Mad Max franchise, where it appears in Mad Max, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior and in Mad Max: Fury Road, as well as both video games.
At the completion of filming Mad Max, the producers could not pay all the creditors, so the black Interceptor was put up for sale. The blower and side pipes were removed to make it suitable for use as a road vehicle. It was then used as a promotional car for the film, before finally being put up for sale. However the car did not sell and was passed on to part-time actor and motor mechanic Murray Smith, who was the head mechanic for the movie's production team, as payment for his services. In the meantime, the low-budget Australian film had gained worldwide success, prompting a sequel, Mad Max 2. For the film, the Pursuit Special was reacquired by Kennedy and Miller.
Bruce Spence as The Gyro Captain, a wanderer who searches for fuel and supplies using a ramshackle old gyrocopter.

Kiwi actor Bruce Spence spent most of his career working in Australia, though he still managed to carve out a distinctive Hollywood career, with memorable turns in major franchises. Standing at over six feet and six inches tall, Spence's height has made him an original leading man. As awkward Graham "Stork" Wallace in the 1971 comedy "Stork," the actor garnered an Australian Film Institute award nod along with a healthy amount of early attention. This recognition landed Spence the part of the autogyro captain in the hit "Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior" in 1981, and four years later he returned to the franchise as Jedediah the Pilot in "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome." Throughout the 1990s, Spence appeared in a number of Aussie TV programs, including a starring role in the hit soap opera miniseries "The Dirtwater Dynasty" and the part of The Chief on the beloved children's sci-fi show "Halfway Across the Galaxy and Turn Left." Spence then began dabbling in more Hollywood fare; he had the notable distinction of appearing in the third installments of "The Matrix" and "The Lord of the Rings" trilogies, along with the third of the "Star Wars" prequels. In 2003, he voiced the shark Chum in Pixar's underwater adventure "Finding Nemo" and since found steady work. In 2008 alone, he landed a role in Baz Luhrmann's down-under epic "Australia" and a recurring part on the fantasy series "Legend of the Seeker."
Mike Preston as Pappagallo, the idealistic leader of a group of settlers barricaded in an oil refinery. Preston was born in Hackney, London, England. He was a boxer and then became a singer. He appeared on Oh Boy! and his third record, "Dirty Old Town" (1959) was produced by Joe Meek. He had three Top 40 hits in the UK Singles Chart, including reaching No. 12 with his cover version of "Mr. Blue" in November 1959, before emigrating to Australia where he worked as a nightclub singer. He then became a host on television, and also an actor. He was a regular host on In Melbourne Tonight in 1968, and in 1969 was a guest celebrity on the game show The Celebrity Game and went on to host the revival in 1976–1977.
Mike Preston 1959 - Mr Blue
His first ongoing starring role on television was in the long-running police drama series Homicide as Sen. Det. Bob Delaney from 1972 to 1973. He then had a recurring role in the soap opera Bellbird as Fr. John Kramer between 1974 and 1976. He later took a lead role in the prison-based soap opera Punishment (1981) but this series was short-lived. In 1984, he had an ongoing role in Hot Pursuit, as the character Alec Shaw. Preston has made numerous guest appearances in television series, including The A-Team, Max Headroom, Airwolf, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Alien Nation, Ellen, and Highlander. He also made an appearance in the series Baywatch Nights.
Mike Preston 1959 - Mr Blue
Preston has also acted in films. His first feature film was Surabaya Conspiracy (1969); other film roles included playing Pappagallo in Mad Max 2 (1981), his best-known role, and Jared-Syn in the science fiction B-movie Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn (1983). He was nominated for the 1979 AACTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his role in The Last of the Knucklemen and he won two Logies for most popular male personality in Victoria.
Max Phipps as The Toadie, the crier of Humungus' gang. An unkempt, bespectacled man who wears a decorated mink stole as a hat and has many automobile badges and hood ornaments on his clothes, his behaviour toward Humungus and Wez make him a classic sycophant.
Phipps was born in Dubbo and grew up in Parkes. He started his acting training in Sydney at the age of 21, at the Ensemble Theatre. There he appeared in such productions as Buffalo Skinner, Long Day's Journey into Night, Fortune and Men's Eyes, The Removalists and Rooted. In the Sydney Opera House's inaugural season he played Harry Bustle in What If You Died Tomorrow?. In London he reprised this role, as well as appearing in Don's Party. He played Dr Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show in Melbourne in 1975–77.
His most notable screen roles included Bernie Dump in The Miraculous Mellops, The Toadie in Mad Max 2 (1981), Prime Minister Gough Whitlam in the television mini-series The Dismissal (1983), Sir Frank Packer in True Believers (1988), and Queensland Police Commissioner Terry Lewis in the Four Corners TV documentary drama Police State (1989), which helped to bring about investigations into corruption within that state's police force and political system. He was nominated for an AFI award for his role in Stir (1980). Other films included The Cars That Ate Paris (1974), Thirst (1979), Nightmares (1980), Dead Easy (1982), The Return of Captain Invincible (1983), Savage Islands (1983), which was released in the United States as Nate and Hayes, Sky Pirates (1986) and What the Moon Saw (1990). He appeared as Detective Inspector Mcallister in the Inspector Morse episode "The Promised Land" in 1991, which was set in Australia. Phipps also played the role of Edward "Dinosaur" Spence in the first season of the short lived Australian television series "FIRE" (1995) set in Queensland. In the early to late 90s He also briefly worked on the ill-fated video game Wizardry: Stones of Arnhem at DirectSoft which was being contracted out to them by Sirtech.
Phipps died from cancer in Sydney in August 2000, survived by his three siblings. He had never married.
Vernon Wells as Wez, a mohawked, leather-clad biker who serves as Humungus' lieutenant. Vincent Canby, writing for The New York Times, called Wez the "most evil of The Humungus's followers... huge brute who rides around on his bike, snarling psychotically." In a 1985 interview with Danny Peary, Miller said the characters of Wez and Max are near mirror images of each other, with each being chained by the leaders of their respective camps and both men spurred on by the death of a loved one—in Wez's case, the relatively recent death of the Golden Youth at the hand of the Feral Kid. In 2011, Empire magazine listed Wez as the greatest movie henchman of all time.
Vernon Wells (born 31 December 1945) is an Australian character actor. He began appearing on Australian television shows in the mid-1970s, such as Homicide, Matlock Police and All the Rivers Run. He is best known to international audiences for his role of Wez in the 1981 science fiction action film Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior and Bennett in the military action film Commando. After Mad Max 2, Wells began appearing in Hollywood films, such as science fiction comedies Weird Science (1985) and Innerspace (1987). In the 2000s, Wells acted in the television series Power Rangers Time Force portraying the series' main villain Ransik. Wells worked in a quarry, then as a salesman, and then in theatre and rock bands. In the 1970s, he was selected by casting agents to appear in a theatre play, and he started to appear in Australian TV commercials, print advertisements, local Australian TV shows such as Homicide and Matlock Police and historical TV mini-series like Against The Wind, Sara Dane and All The Rivers Run. His first cinema appearance was a minor role in Felicity (1979), a low-budget, erotic fantasy film.
Kjell Nilsson as 'The Humungus' on the set of "Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior" (1981)
Nilsson was a former olympic-class weight lifter who was born in Gothenburg, Sweden. He moved to Australia in 1980 to train Swedish athletes for the Moscow Olympics. In Australia, he met actress Kate Ferguson, and they married in Sweden. She persuaded him to return to Australia and to look for work in the Australian film industry. In the 1981 post-apocalyptic science fiction action film Mad Max 2 (also known as Mad Max: The Road Warrior), he played the main antagonist "Lord Humungus", the leader of a gang of marauders that besiege a settler compound in the Australian wastelands. He leads a rag-tag band of biker-berserkers, and he gives speeches to the settlers exhorting them to surrender, while utilizing psychological warfare. Time magazine's Richard Corliss stated that in Nilsson's portrayal, "malevolence courses through his huge pectorals, [and] pulses visibly under his bald, sutured scalp." A year later, he appeared in The Pirate Movie (1982), a musical and comedy film directed by Ken Annakin and starring Christopher Atkins and Kristy McNichol. In 1984, he had a role in the TV movie Man of Letters, and in 1987, he played the role of a nurse in The Edge of Power.
Minty played The Feral Kid, a feral child in the 1981 film Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. As an actor, he had no lines in the film. After Mad Max 2, he had minor parts in Fluteman (1982) and in The Winds of Jarrah (1983). In 1990 he appeared in a few episodes of A Country Practice. Minty withdrew from acting when he finished school. He became a jeweler, and has worked at Chris Lewis Jewellers in Sydney's Gladesville since the early 1990s. He is a father of two.
Hey began her career as a fashion model after being discovered at a bus stop by POL magazine editor Wendy Adnam. Hey appeared on several magazine covers and started her acting career in television advertisements (57 in all), television dramas and films in Australia and the UK.
In 1979, Hey appeared in live TV performances with The Buggles for their song "Video Killed the Radio Star", including on the BBC's Top of the Pops and on German television. However, she does not appear in the official music video. (The official video for the same song is remembered best for being the first music video broadcast on MTV in 1981.) Hey appeared in the Mamas Boys rock video for their hit single Needle in the Groove in 1985.
Her film and television credits include the Warrior Woman in Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior and General Pushkin's girlfriend in the Bond film The Living Daylights. She is well known for the role of the blue-skinned alien priestess Zotoh Zhaan in Farscape, for which she was nominated for best supporting actress by the Saturn Awards. She left the show early in the third season for health and personal reasons: the prosthetic makeup worn over her head and chest to achieve Zhaan's appearance and the stress of the long filming days caused her kidneys to bleed, subsequently causing a decline in her health, and she grew tired of having to shave her head and eyebrows for the role.
Hey has also appeared in various Australian soap operas including Prisoner (Cell Block H) as Leigh Templar, Neighbours as Beth Travers, E Street as Jennifer St. James, and Pacific Drive as Margaux Hayes. Since leaving Farscape, Hey has started her own company, White Flower Lei, which manufactures perfumes and soaps. She currently resides in the UK.

The movie’s costume design reflects the rugged nature of the characters.
Leather and worn-out clothing contribute to the gritty and realistic post-apocalyptic aesthetic.
Max’s faithful canine companion, the Blue Heeler dog, is a fan-favorite character.
The dog adds an emotional layer to the story and showcases Max’s softer side. Over 100 dogs auditioned for the role of Mad Max's companion, but a blue heeler scheduled to be euthanized at the local pound got the part by fetching a rock for Miller.
Director George Miller decided to adopt not shop when he was casting Max’s best friend. After auditioning 100+ dogs without finding the right fit, he went to a dog pound in Yagoona (a very Australian-sounding city) and found the perfect pup. Dog, a two-year-old Australian Cattle Dog (which Miller says is a half-breed between a dingo and a sheep collie), was actually scheduled to be put down when Miller found him, but after the dog fetched a rock and brought it back to his feet, that was all Miller needed to see. Dog found not only a starring role in an action classic but a forever home as well.
How is Dog’s performance in the film? Immaculate, of course.
Few breeds of dogs are as loyal as the Australian Cattle Dog. These dogs bond with their family for life, building strong ties that are never broken. They are fearless with a natural tendency to protect their loved ones. And when they show their defensive stance, these dogs can be quite intimidating. Bred for hard work herding cattle on the farms, the Australian Cattle Dog is as athletic as canines get. They have boundless energy and unending endurance that allows them to work all day without tiring. For dogs working on the farm, this is a blessing. But for the Australian Cattle Dogs that become companion pets, that energy will need a daily outlet. These dogs are happiest when they’re given a task or job to complete. Their high levels of intelligence mean they can quickly pick up new activities with ease. It also means that boredom comes quickly to these pooches if they’re left alone without any constructive tasks for too long. You’ll need to provide an outlet for all the excess energy each day. Because of this, these dogs are perfect for runners, hikers, or any other distance athletes that are making miles each day.
Arkie Whiteley as The Captain's Girl, a beautiful young settler who chooses to stay with her compatriots rather than escape with the Gyro Captain, prompting him to stay as well. Arkie Deya Whiteley (6 November 1964 – 19 December 2001) was an Australian actress who appeared in television and film. Whiteley's parents were the renowned Australian artist Brett Whiteley and cultural figure Wendy Whiteley. According to her obituary in The Times newspaper, when living with her parents at the Hotel Chelsea in New York as an infant, her babysitter was singer Janis Joplin. Arkie was educated at the prestigious Ascham School in Sydney and at an alternative school: the Australian International School at North Ryde, Sydney. She also attended Cremorne Girls High.
Her television and film work included A Town Like Alice, Razorback, Mad Max 2, Gallowglass, Princess Caraboo and The Last Musketeer with Robson Green. She also appeared in the television series Prisoner as troubled prostitute/junkie Donna Mason and in early episodes of A Country Practice. After her father's overdose in 1992, she negotiated with the New South Wales government to purchase his studio and run it as a studio museum managed by the Art Gallery of New South Wales
Whiteley married her first husband Christopher Kuhn in 1995; they divorced in 1999. She married her second husband Jim Elliott in December 2001, shortly before she died from adrenal cancer on December 19, at age 37. She had a seven-year relationship with actor Paul Rhys, who nursed her during her illness. She was cremated at Sydney's Northern Suburbs Crematorium. Both Arkie's and her father Brett's ashes are buried in an undisclosed location in Wendy's Secret Garden in the Sydney North Shore suburb of Lavender Bay.

Harold Charles Sydney Heylen (better known as Syd, or Seyler, Heylen), was an Australian comedian, variety performer, and radio, stage, television, and film character actor.
Heylen was born in Renmark, South Australia as the only son of a carpenter. He joined the army at 16 and served on the Kokoda Trail in the 39th Infantry Battalion, later going on to join an army entertainment troupe.
He went into vaudeville after World War II and in 1956 starred in the variety show "The Show of Stars" with Hal Lashwood and John Ewart. Heylen became well known during the 1960s on television as a regular performer on the HSV-7 variety show "Sunnyside Up" in Melbourne for 10 years, appearing as 'Sydney from Sydney'. He teamed up with other comics, such as Honest John Gilbert, presenting comedy sketches in between the musical items.
In 1961, he married his second wife, fellow performer Patti Brittain. They had two children - a daughter, Julie, and a son, Syd Junior, both of whom followed their parents into the entertainment industry.
During the '60s and '70s, Heylen was a staple cabaret performer on the club circuit.
Heylen appeared in numerous smaller television series roles including "The Box", "Matlock Police", "Homicide", "Division 4", and "Alvin Purple", but remains best known for his permanent and long-running role as Vernon 'Cookie' Locke, a chef, and barman in the television series "A Country Practice", a role he played from 1982 until 1992. He was cast in the part after the series creator, and executive producer James Davern saw him in the TV series "Arcade".
Heylen was written out of the series in 1992 alongside another older cast member Gordon Piper (who played Cookie's mate 'Bob Hatfield') as the producers wanted to concentrate on a younger cast and an updated formula. Davern would later regret dropping Cookie and Bob, as they were two of the show's central characters who provided many of the comedy scenes between the more dramatic storylines.
On film, Heylen appeared in "Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior" as 'Curmudgeon'.
In the 1980s, he released several albums containing songs such as "Who's Sorry Now?" (to which television comedy team, the D-Generation quipped - "anyone who bought the album!")
After he left "A Country Practice" in 1992, he and his wife Patti retired to their Gold Coast home, where he would occasionally make public appearances and perform. He died in Queensland on December 4, 1996, as a result of complications of a stroke.
Syd Heylen was a patron and performer for the Variety Club Australia, where he was awarded as The First National Treasure.

Brian May was born in Adelaide on 28 July 1934. He trained at the Adelaide Elder Conservatorium as a pianist, violinist and conductor. He joined the ABC Adelaide in 1957 and was asked to form and conduct the ABC Adelaide Big Band, a full-blown ensemble that was rated as the best of the ABC state-based bands. He moved to Melbourne when he was 35 to arrange and conduct the ABC's Melbourne Show band. The Show Band made its radio debut on the First Network on 13 March 1969. Background music for Australian television had previously been taken from records. May changed this by writing and arranging the themes for television programmes, including Bellbird, Return to Eden, The Last Frontier, A Dangerous Life and Darling of the Gods.
A breakthrough for May was the drama series Rush, set on the 19th-century Victorian goldfields. The theme was composed by Australian George Dreyfus, but May's arrangement of the theme was recorded by the Show Band and quickly reached the top five on the Australian charts, selling more than 100,000 copies. This type of success was usually reserved for pop groups such as Sherbert and Skyhooks. The single was also released in NZ. May also composed the theme to the highly successful Countdown television series launched by the Melbourne Show Band. He left the ABC in 1984 and his interests turned to film music. He composed more than 30 feature film scores, including Frog Dreaming, Cloak and Dagger, Mad Max, Mad Max 2, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, Dr. Giggles and one episode of Tales from the Crypt. May preferred to orchestrate his scores himself.
May died in Melbourne on 25 April 1997 at the age of 62. At the time of his death, May left his collection of music manuscripts to Queensland University of Technology. The manuscripts have since been preserved by the National Library of Australia. His will established the Brian May Trust, a charitable testamentary trust, to provide a scholarship to promising Australian film composers to study film-scoring at the University of Southern California (USC). The Trustees have determined that the scholarship will be provided for tuition in film-scoring at the USC's Thornton School of Music in the course known as the 'Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television Graduate Certificate'. The Brian May Trust Scholarship was first awarded for the 2003–2004 academic year. The scholarship later relocated to New York University's Steinhardt School.

Codenamed Operation Neptune and often referred to as D-Day, it was, and still is, the largest seaborne invasion in history. The operation began the liberation of France (and later Western Europe) and laid the foundations of the Allied victory on the Western Front.
The landing craft, vehicle, personnel (LCVP) or Higgins boat was a landing craft used extensively by the Allied forces in amphibious landings in World War II. Typically constructed from plywood, this shallow-draft, barge-like boat could ferry a roughly platoon-sized complement of 36 men to shore at 9 knots (17 km/h). Men generally entered the boat by climbing down a cargo net hung from the side of their troop transport; they exited by charging down the boat's lowered bow ramp. Designer Andrew Higgins based it on boats made for operating in swamps and marshes. More than 23,358 were built, by Higgins Industries and licensees. Taking the last letter of the LCVP designation, sailors often nicknamed the Higgins Boat the "Papa Boat" or "Peter Boat" to differentiate it from other landing craft such as the LCU and the LCM, with the LCM being called the "Mike Boat".
The D-Day landings weren’t a simple matter of invading a series of beaches. They involved breaching Hitler’s Atlantic Wall – a series of ‘impenetrable’ defences stretching 1,670 miles from Norway to Spain.
Much of this wall is still intact. Concrete turret defences, anti-landing obstacles and more can still be found all across the coast.

Fast and pulsating violin sounds also now provide atmosphere, Another very dangerous biker gang member from the Marauders passes accelerates. There is a young man sat on the back of the bike (The Golden Youth), he is the boyfriend of the rider (Wez).. The crazy biker dude (Wez) speeds up ahead in a bid to block the path of Max.. The Marauder gang pillage, murder, rape, and lots of other bad things, it won't end nice for Max if he is caught..
Max fleetingly looks out to his right side mirror before returning to face the road ahead. A lot of grey smoke appears as Max travels further. A large crash and a lot of debris is visible just ahead. The road is blocked and Max must find a way to get passed or face a certain death.. (2 cars burn in the distance) A light blue convertible type vehicle is on fire producing a thick grey plume of smoke.. There is also an overturned white car -
A loud skid is heard as Max uses his driving skills to twist around the burning wreckage averting disaster..It looks like the Marauder gang have already attacked and killed there first victims of the day..
A loud acceleration of Max's car engine is heard followed by a loud skid, Max rapidly exit's the debris field but is now followed by Wez on his motorbike. Suddenly Wez and his machine lift from the ground and jump 20 feet into the air before landing soundly..Wez and his bike skid slightly but rapidly regain control as he continues to pursue Max.. (The Golden Youth is certainly enjoying the ride as he clings to the back) The buggy and the other V8 clone continue behind.
The leather clad biker with silver studs continues his deadly pursuit in the V8 vehicle. The crazy gang member simply does not have the skills to manoeuvre around the debris field as he hits a sheet pile of broken and flattened wood. The speed and trajectory causes the large and heavy vehicle to take off and rise 10 feet in the air tilting onto it's left hand side. A loud smashing sound is heard as the vehicle lands back onto the surface of the road. The buggy is just behind.. A loud skidding of tires is heard from the vehicle..Unfortunately the crazy gang member has now lost some control as he hits the first overturned white car at full speed on the right hand side. This causes a chain reaction as his car and the one he hit also hit the overturned blue convertible.
This causes the mangled white car to violently eject from it's stationary position and rappel several feet. A loud smashing sound is heard as the mangled wreck is smashed to a pulp, Earth explodes out from the ground, debris fills the surrounding air. The buggy is heard just behind.. Buggy produces a cloud of dust and debris.. The overturned convertible is now struck by the marauder at high speed. A plastic clothes bin violently rolls across the dusty floor, A thick brown dust is produced as the buggy passes..The plastic yellow bin lands upright and rests against the flames of the convertible..
The engine of Max's car is heard - Max is alive and has so far evaded his pursuers. Dog is not distraught in any way and seems to be enjoying the ride. Dog sticks his long tongue out and imitates a bird with a high pitched squawk sound. Dog closes his eyes and yawns as he looks out the left hand window.
Max is composed and very focused as he continues to speed down the perilous road. A loud beeping sound is heard including the persistent flashing of a red light, Max comes out of his world for a moment as his eyes flit to the right side window..Max looks down at something that is connected to the warning sounds.. Dog looks out towards the right side window.
Max looks down at a large dial that is connected to the Liquid Nitrogen system. The dial indicates that all the gas has been depleted and a serious boost in speed is not possible at this time..A large red covered plastic light pulses on and off, The camera slowly zooms into the dial..
Max is slightly annoyed as he reaches down and presses a red switch with his thumb. A liquid nitrogen vehicle is powered by liquid nitrogen, which is stored in a tank. Traditional nitrogen engine designs work by heating the liquid nitrogen in a heat exchanger, extracting heat from the ambient air and using the resulting pressurized gas to operate a piston or rotary motor. Vehicles propelled by liquid nitrogen have been demonstrated, but are not used commercially. One such vehicle, Liquid Air, was demonstrated in 1902.
A high pitched sound similar to releasing steam is heard, The rotating Liquid Nitrogen system quickly stops rotating.. The rotary motor and piston system stops dead..
Max closes his eyes for a split second as he looks on over towards his pet called Dog. (Max sways from side to side slightly from the motion of the vehicle) Dog has it's tongue out as it looks down at the liquid nitrogen equipment. Suddenly Dog turns on his feet anti clockwise as he faces the back of the car. Dog steps forward and jumps over the seat as he makes his way to the back of the vehicle. (Dog whines) Dog turns around anti clockwise several times as he attempts to make himself as comfortable as he can on his straw bedding. Dog also has a yellow blanket and a blue and white striped blanket for his bed.
The V8 clone that crashed into the two burning cars just a few short moments ago is now firmly catching up with Max. The marauder is using half of the road surface and half of the dusty side road as he puts foot to the pedal. A loud clanging sound is heard as the marauder smashes his car into a white wooden sign post..The wooden pole breaks easily and does not slow down the bandit.
Dog has laid down but is alert and not sleeping..The loud sound of the breaking pole startles Dog as he jerks his head right to left rapidly from the sudden high pitched frequency. Dog continues to turn his head from side to side rapidly as he stands up on his front legs. (Places right paw forward) (Turns head right and over towards Max) Engine whirrs loudly.
Max knows he is in real danger as the V8U clone continues to catch up with Max, Max looks out his right window as he raises his fingers above the steering wheel on both hands, Max is on edge and needs to find a way out of his predicament..Max glances to his left, Veers eyes right as he keeps focus on the approaching marauder. A loud sound of engines infused is heard. Max now has Wez and his motorbike to attend with..
The motorbike produces a very high pitched buzzing sound and has excellent performance. The dangerous gang member Wez who is second in command within the group carries a large and powerful spear gun.. The motorbike is gaining distance very quickly and will be side by side with Max and his car in no time at all.
Wez shows no anger and is very relaxed as he reaches the left hand side of Max's V8 vehicle. The leather clad marauder has now almost reached Max's drivers side. Another gang member wearing a heavy duty metal helmet with a glass front sits in the passenger seat of the V8 clone.
To Max's disappointment the leather clad marauder that drives the V8 clone has a gang member sat in the passenger side. Max looks back at the dangerous gang member as he points his spear gun at him.
Wez has made it to the left hand side open window as he readies his spear gun. Wez has a crazed look on his face as he looks right in on Max preparing for the kill.
Max instantly notices the presence of danger as he instantly jerks his head away from the V8 Clone fire helmet attacker and focuses on Wez with his high powered spear gun. (Max is doomed) Max winces and scrunches his face as he stares out of the front window..Suddenly Max lurches forward and down as he slams on the brakes to his vehicle at high speed.
A loud screeching of tires is heard as Max's vehicle violently skids to a halt, A plume of grey smoke emits from the vehicles front and back wheels.
The man in the heavy duty solid steel suit aims his weapon at Max's head and fires.. A high pitched popping sound is heard as 6 long and very sharp spears explode out of the metal drum barrel at supersonic speed. Max has done is homework as he narrowly avoids death by a very short margin. Because Max braked the spears did not hit Max, instead Wez has the pleasure.
A powerful spear rapidly penetrates the right arm of Wez causing the strong man to scream out with pain. Wez quickly loses his ambitions of killing Max as he veers of the road unable to ride his bike without immediate attention to his arm.
More loud revving is heard - (Skidding continues from Max's vehicle..) The buggy is still in pursuit as it rapidly travels across the barren desert wasteland. On top of the buggy there are some tires, animal skins and blankets that have been pillaged from earlier.. The marauder who drives the buggy is wearing a green suit and his face is covered..He has white hair. A large spear sticks out the roof of the buggy. Dead kangaroos are also visible..
Max jerks the steering wheel rapidly in a left to right motion as he changes gear. Max quickly reaches down and pulls up on the red trumpet shaped button connected to the liquid nitrogen turbo system with his thumb and index fingers. The gear stick moves up slightly as Max places his hand to it..
All systems are go.. A high pitched sound similar to a jet on take off is heard, A loud rumbling is now heard as the turbo boost system springs to life. The piston, motors and fan belt rapidly come to life. (Machine shakes rapidly) Camera slowly zooms in onto the high tech components..
Max quickly catches up with the marauder driving the V8 clone, He also carries a passenger wearing a heavy duty metal suit designed for hot environments. Max thinks it is his turn now to become the aggressor as he rapidly approaches from behind. Max is angry and also completely focused as he carries out his revenge. Max jerks in his seat as he applies the turbo boost for a second time. A tremendous spurt of speed is now produced which enables Max to slam into the back of the V8 clone. A loud sound of breaking and crumbling metal is heard as Max's car obliterates the back end of the gangs vehicle. (A sound similar to smashing glass is heard) Large pieces of debris from both vehicles explode and fall off to the road below. Max's front bonnet shreds as large pieces break off.
Large pieces of debris from both vehicles explode and fall off to the road below. Max's front bonnet shreds as large pieces break off. The marauders car fares less damage but it gives Max the advantage he needs to push the gang members vehicle out of control..
The driver of the V8 clone wearing leather clothing and dark sunglasses shakes his head rapidly from side to side from the violent forces..The marauder looks behind him back to Max for a fleeting moment as the shock and surprise sets in. Suddenly the driver of the buggy who wears a green suit suddenly appears from nowhere. The buggy rapidly shoots across the road right in front of the V8 clone. The buggy bounces as it lands on the road having jumped several feet after departing the desert terrain. The buggy was attempting to intercept Max but his calculations have been ruined when Max accelerated the other vehicle. The driver of the V8 clone looks back out of the front window but it is too late. The V8 driver holds his hands up to his face as he slams into the buggy. (
A massive rumbling mess of glass and debris is heard as the V8 clone obliterates the buggy. The buggy catapults into a large mass of clutter that lies in the road creating a gigantic explosion.
The buggy smashes into a huge debris field of junk and other clutter. Buggy violently twists around in the air)
A white kangaroo recently killed comes loose and violently twists in the air before landing on the road amongst debris. A large truck is now visible as the buggy smashes into it..
The driver of the V8 clone has lost control as he drives over some wooden debris and banks his vehicle, Now the car is on two wheels as it dangerously travels down the road.
A loud rumbling of metal and smashing of glass is heard as the vehicle lifts up and twists onto it's back at high speed. The car twists violently over and over four times in quick succession. A dust cloud elopes the vehicle as it turns up the ground. The front window glass blasts out into millions of shards..
As the V8 clone rests on it's back for the final time Max zooms past in his vehicle.. No signs of life from the destroyed vehicle can be seen, presumably dead. The man in the heavy duty metal fire suit might still be alive, who knows.
A massive squealing of wheels is heard as Max slams on the breaks of his vehicle just a few feet ahead. A plume of grey smoke emits from the tires. Wheels rotate rapidly..
Max takes his hand away from the steering wheel as he rapidly looks back to evaluate the situation. Max keeps his right hand on the wheel just in case. Max spends a few seconds observing as he slowly lowers his left hand back to the steering wheel. Max jerks as he changes gear still looking behind. (Clicking is heard from the gear box mechanics) Max raises his left hand again as he begins to slowly reverse back to the scene of destruction and chaos.
The V8 clone rests motionless at the side of the road with no signs of life.. A grey smoke is funneling out from the destroyed car and it could explode.. (Creepy violin melody is heard to provide suspense) A loud whirring of Max's engine is heard -
Deep rumbling from the car is heard - Car shakes gently as it comes to a halt..
Dog has become interest in the outside world as he quickly escapes out of the passenger side window.
A creaking is heard as Max steps out of his vehicle right leg first.. A creaking is heard as Max steps out of his vehicle right leg first..A squeak is now heard as Max shuts the drivers side door. The sound of an empty gas tank is also heard..
Max runs back to the carnage with a gas can in his left hand.. The sound of a swirling wind is heard - Max keep his right hand close to his shotgun that is attached to his right side.. A revving of an engine is heard as Wez slowly comes over the hill from a distance on his motorbike.. Dog wags it's tail as it keeps the pace with Max, Dog runs just in front of Max before running forward slightly but maintaining the pace. More revs from Wez's bike is heard as he slowly edges the bike to the middle section before stopping. A red rag attached to Max's right arm shakes in the wind.
A scrunching from Max's feet is head as he cautiously steps forward while maintaining a strong focus with the dangerous marauder. Deep synthesizer chord is heard - Max gently sways on his feet as he stops motionless. Max is unsure whether the bandit will attempt to kill him again or let him go..
A loud revving of the engine is heard as Wez places his right leg down onto the surface of the road.. The camera slowly pans up to reveal the occupants of the bike..
Wez stores his silver arrows for his spear gun around his right leg, One spear is missing when he fired at Max but missed his target. (Deep dungeon type of synthesizer chord is heard to provide atmosphere) Wez keeps both hands on the handlebars of his bike..
The black feathers on Wez's shoulder pads flap in the cool breeze. The Golden Youth is silent and motionless as he looks down towards Max. Wez is a homosexual and the young man with blonde hair is his boyfriend.. The Golden Youth has a chain and lock around his neck and is kept under the thumb by Wez..
Max continues to watch from a distance as he blinks several times from a small fly that is buzzing around his face.. The fly lands just below Max's right eye, Max has had enough as he turns to face the truck..
When the buggy collided with the truck it created a sever in the trucks tank, Now precious gasoline drips from the storage tank of the large juggernaut..A dripping sound has got the attention of Max who has thought ahead of the possibility he can syphon or collect gasoline for his V8 vehicle. A small waterfall of liquid cascades down onto the dusty surface..
