Duel is a 1971 American road action thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg in his feature film debut. It centers on a traveling salesman David Mann (Dennis Weaver) driving his car through rural California to meet a client. However, he finds himself chased and terrorized by the mostly unseen driver of a semi-truck. The screenplay by Richard Matheson adapts his own short story of the same name, published in the April 1971 issue of Playboy, and based on an encounter on November 22, 1963, when a trucker dangerously cut him off on a California freeway.
Fonoptikon is an independent electronic music composer/producer who brings a unique blend of retro-synth sound and modern production to the scene. Inspired by the sounds of the 80s and 90s, Fonoptikon combines elements of synthwave, chillwave, dark synth and cyberpunk to create a truly distinctive and nostalgia-driven sound.
Originally from Athens GR, Fonoptikon grew up immersed in electronic music club and sci-fi cinema culture. He began experimenting with electronic music production at the age of 14, and now uses his deep knowledge and skills to create compositions that meet sci-fi, neo-noir and retro cinema thus performing a unique audiovisual show.

Originally from Denmark, but now based in London, Camilla Roholm’s Invader Girl persona is every bit as fantastical as her wonky pop recordings.
She’s a whirlwind of psychedelic sci-fi fantasy, nineties’ R&B and girl group goodness, as irrepressible as her upbeat sounds.
Now signed to Sony, and with some crackling hits under her belt, including Starting Fires and Stuck On Me, it seems big things are on the horizon for this pop princess in waiting.

Because Nic Zinner is the most awesome guitarist in the world and Karen O is my ultimate hero. I think they are one of the last remaining great rock 'n' roll bands.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs are an American indie rock band formed in New York City in 2000. The group is composed of Karen O (vocals, piano), Nick Zinner (guitars, keyboards), and Brian Chase (drums). The band does not have a bassist but is complemented in live performances by second guitarist David Pajo and, previously, Imaad Wasif.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs released their debut album, Fever to Tell, in 2003, to widespread acclaim. Their second album, Show Your Bones, came out in 2006, and their third, It's Blitz!, followed in 2009. They issued Mosquito in 2013, and after a hiatus, their fifth album, Cool It Down, came out in 2022. Because it's my favourite track off one of one of my favourite albums. Courtney Love's lyrics are awesome, and her power vocals make me wanna throw myself around and run away to join the circus.
Kate Bush – Cloudbusting
Because Kate Bush is a genius. This whole album blows my mind. Her voice and song writing is better than anyone's. She was also the first woman ever to have a number one song that was both written and produced by her. What a hero.

Because it's such a cool track and Debbie Harry is the ultimate front woman. I find her ability to be really feminine yet seem incredibly strong really inspirational.
Hole was an American alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1989. It was founded by singer and guitarist Courtney Love and guitarist Eric Erlandson. It had several different bassists and drummers, the most prolific being drummer Patty Schemel and bassists Kristen Pfaff (d. 1994) and Melissa Auf der Maur. Hole released a total of four studio albums between two incarnations spanning the 1990s and early-2010s and became one of the most commercially successful rock bands in history fronted by a woman.

Because it has possibly the best synth pop riff ever, and Karin Andersson's voice is pained, heart breaking Scandi perfection.
Neneh Cherry – Buffalo Stance
Because she's an awesome feminist icon, and the track is so effortlessly cool. I'm also in love with the retro rap and the synth sound in the chorus.
