I studied at the Berlin University of the Arts until 2012, but I decided I didn’t want to do a Masters. So in 2012, I had to get to know myself and what I actually wanted to do. The real turning point was in 2015, when I met a lot of people in Berlin with bands and was really inspired, if only to sit at home, write and do vocal exercises.
One of these bands was [instrumental psych outfit] Camera, and that’s how I met Steffen Kahles, who would go on to produce my songs. I went on tour with them several times, on and off. As they’re an instrumental band I would go on stage and improvise and do ad-lib vocals. That’s when I started writing my own stuff.
I don’t think about genres when I make music; I go by feelings and emotions.
At the time, I was subletting my apartment and living with a Korean director, and he was asking me if I knew any German bands or German music. He was doing an animated movie about North and South Korea, wanting to make a comparison to West and East Berlin and using German music. I said, “Yeah, I also make German music. I have some demos, and I can send them to you.” That was when I realised I needed to do it now and started working with Steffen. Freier Geist and Wanderratte, were written for the film [which eventually didn’t happen], but then I also knew I also wanted to make a record. Sometimes things just need to align. I played every showcase festival, including SXSW and Eurosonic. I did all the stuff that was there for indie and newcomers, but they would always struggle putting me into one genre. If I’m honest, I was so surprised that people found it so unique. It actually annoyed me a little because I thought I was just doing pop music. I also never thought I’d be singing in German. It wasn’t until a friend of mine wrote me a poem in German, and then I thought it was so beautiful, and I was going to do it.Until the end of my twenties, I was still on the first record. Then I was like okay, what am I going to do next? The first record we made without a producer; it was just Steffen and me. Sometimes I would record and edit my vocals myself, then do the post-production myself. This is not something I would like to do again. When we made that record we basically had no life. I thought, this can’t be it. The voice is an instrument – depending on your daily state, it changes. I do not want to put us in that situation again. I knew I wanted to work with a producer, and I wanted to find management.
There was so much pressure, so many people talking around me. The most important thing was for me to be happy with it musically, and be 100% sure of what I’m delivering, and to be a fan of what I’ve done. It’s like a plant. When it’s too big, you put it in a bigger pot, and sometimes it dies because it doesn’t like the new environment. I want to grow and be involved, but I don’t want to lose myself and lose the people I was working with. It was hard for me to say that I want to grow and not lose myself, but I must say, I’ve done really well.
Maybe people will say, well there’s yet another language on the album. I grew up with three different cultures and languages, with completely opposite cultures. I’ve always felt torn, and for me, making a record that has all these languages is an act of bringing together these different pieces. Some will like it and some will not like it. You can’t please everyone.

Aya Takano (タカノ綾, Takano Aya; born December 22, 1976) is a Japanese painter, Superflat artist, manga artist, and science fiction essayist. Aya Takano is represented by Kaikai Kiki, the artistic production studio created in 2001 by Takashi Murakami.

Takano was born in Saitama, Japan. She spent her childhood reading her father's library, which consisted of many books on natural sciences and science fiction. Exotic animals and landforms combined with an urban city are common themes in her artwork, and are intended to show the juxtaposition between future and fantasy. Takano cited in a documentary made by the Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin that she was always fascinated by the unusual forms of nature and animal life, and desires to have such shapes represented in her work.
Osamu Tezuka's science fiction was also an early influence in Takano's life, and had a lasting impact on her dreamy perception of the world. She cites in the book Drop Dead Cute by Ivan Vartanian, that she really believed everything she read was true until she was nineteen. Takano states that sometimes even now she imagines possessing the ability to fly and is uninterested in the constrictions of being grounded.
When it was time for her to start thinking about college, Takano told her parents she wouldn't attend unless she was allowed to enter an art program. In 2000, she received a bachelor's degree from Tama Art University in Tokyo, and, soon after, became an assistant for leading Japanese Contemporary Artist Takashi Murakami, the founder of the Superflat art movement, who became her first mentor and jump-started her career.
Shoko Igarashi was born in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. An accomplished tenor saxophonist, she is also a versatile flautist and plays alto and soprano saxophone fluently. She has already made her mark as both an arranger and a composer.
Shoko grew up surrounded by dreamlike landscapes of abundant nature in the snowy
countryside of Tsuruoka, a mysterious and surreal region renowned for producing the best quality rice in Japan, where she says, “the water and the air feel the purest and where mountains and shrines overflow with ancient mysticism“. After beginning her musical career in Tokyo, she attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree of music.
She then relocated to Brooklyn, New York where she began regularly performing live alongside innumerable talented jazz musicians. In 2018, she moved to Brussels, Belgium and founded the group Maniac Maison with her partner, pianist Casimir Liberski, and guitarist Lucien Fraipont.
Since 2018, Shoko has written and compiled a series of well-crafted, colourful electronic
songs curating diverse influences such as Sly and the Family Stone, Earth Wind & fire,
Japanese City-Pop, 70s jazz fusion, and the anime film music that she grew up learning to play. Her nimble and seamless assembly of these very different elements into her unique sound is astonishingly natural.
In addition to her primary group Maniac Maison, Shoko worked with Belgian synth-pop band Telex’s founding member and producer Dan Lacksman on her first official solo Album. Her first Electro pop album released from Tigersushi records on May 2022.

New Jackson marks his long-awaited follow-up to 2017's From Night To Night with its successor Oops!...Pop for long-time collaborators Permanent Vacation. A concise triumph in techno pop, its nine tracks elevate his signature electronic sounds into anthemic new heights. David Kitt is a prolific sonic polymath who's enjoyed a colorful career making whatever he likes. While releasing music under a vast array of aliases and collaborations for close to two and a half decades, New Jackson has remained his irregular home since 2011 for when "at one with the machines." It offers a kaleidoscopic window into his love of dance music, and on his debut album under the alias From Night To Night he unfurled his singular vision; a dilated suite of nocturnal soul coaxed from his beloved electronic equipment with songwriter's nous, sonically etched as blunted whispers coalesced from the dusky billows of Dublin bay. In the time since his New Jackson debut, he's slowly distilled his studio methodology to help mine the true core of his musical self. Within this experimentation, he has stumbled upon the bounty that is OOPS!... POP, his most direct and euphoric body of work to date. Recorded across the span of five years and three different countries, Kitt has managed to transform his beloved alias into a leaner beast, tightening the screws around arrangements and songwriting to inspire an album sonically effortless in demeanor and spontaneously playful in structure and form. Aided by a stacked cast of collaborators including Rita Lynn, Donnacha Costello, Riche "Jape" Egan, Yenkee, Kean Kavanagh, Margie Jean Lewis, Meg Cronin, and Fehdah, it bears the hallmarks of the studio albums of yesteryear in its dynamism and gratification while drawing on his rich bouquet of influences across a century of recorded music. New Jackson's oeuvre, indeed David Kitt's musical world, is vast; OOPS!... POP then might just be his opus across it all, a towering achievement of soaring catharsis in melody and song that soundtracks the most direct transmissions from his heart to yours.

Saint DX is a French singer, writer and producer who embodies the crooner of modern times, reflecting an obsession with love and increased emotional sensitivity.
Saint DX is the epitome of the contemporary crooner. A French singer, songwriter and producer, his style reveals an obsession for love and an exacerbated sensitivity.
Raised in the Buddhist spirituality of his parents and rocked by the soundtrack of The Big Blue, Aurélien Hamm tells us about the fragility but also the beauty of our love stories, and the reincarnation of our wounds in the repetition of our days.
Oscillating between English and French, swaying bass and ethereal layers, auto-tune and nakedness of the voice, he cites Sade as well as Mylène Farmer, Better Person, Kanye West or Prince among his influences.
Since 2018, he has released 3 singles (Regrets, First Fantasy and I Still Care), accompanied Charlotte Gainsbourg on stage and played a number of her opening acts. He has just put the finishing touches to SDX, a 9-track EP available on Cracki Records and Because Music. He will be in concert in Paris at Point Éphémère on 12 December 2019.

Leæther Strip
Leæther Strip is a Danish musical project founded on 13 January 1988 by Claus Larsen. Its influence has been most felt in the electronic body music and electro-industrial genres. Leæther Strip was one of the earliest and most prominent acts on Germany's now defunct Zoth Ommog record label. The band name was intended to convey the literal meaning — a small band of leather — though Larsen has been guarded as to the reason. During some early shows, the racy implications of the name "strip" led some to believe that his act was explicitly pornographic to the point where one show was scouted by a pornographic magazine. His first album, The Pleasure of Penetration, was produced by Talla 2XLC (Andreas Tomalla of Bigod 20) and Ra/Hen (Ralf Henrich of Robotiko Rejekto) and released on the German label Zoth Ommog Records. His early records were labeled "industrial" music, although Larsen himself had no specific opinion of what genre the music fit into.
